Yesterday afternoon I received notice that Alpharetta City Council will be holding a special meeting Wednesday night. The only item on the agenda is one referring to the Local Option Sales Tax commonly referred to as LOST.
Our recent LOST discussions have centered around the way Fulton County municipalities will split the proceeds from the one cent LOST tax and I was previously under the impression that we had reached an agreement on that point. But last week the Georgia Supreme Court apparently struck down portions of the state law which affect LOST distributions so I assume tomorrow night’s meeting was called in response to that ruling.
