While reading Christopher Fountain’s blog For What Its Worth I came across the most powerful piece of video I have ever watched in my life. It is Steve Jobs’ commencement speech to the graduating class of Stanford in 2005.
The insight Steve Jobs shared with those students is more valuable than anything they learned in four years of instruction. If you take a few minutes to watch you will be glad you did.
Video of a guy playing “spoon slide guitar”. Blows my mind for how it sounds and how he does it: http://tinyurl.com/3943xf
This version of Hey Joe just seemed perfect for a Monday morning.
Missed my Monday Mornin’ Dobro this a.m. but it is never too late for some dobro!
Had to revise this edition because the link went bad. But here is Bob Brozman learnin’ the French about some good, old fashion American blues.
Today would have been Rory Gallagher’s 61st birthday so we’ll post this version of Too much Alcohol for the festivities!
I saw this concert in hi definition on Palladia last year and couldn’t believe I had never heard of them before.
Talented musicians with a thumping, reggae base line and a horn section. They absolutely rock. Today I bought the DVD and CD for $17 bucks. It was a steal and I thought I’d pass along a taste.
Today is Johnny Cash’s birthday. Happy Birthday Mr. Cash!
Could you please tell Elvis and June that I said hello?
Think I may need to start wearing black myself the way things are going.
A little Slick Rick. Just because tomorrow is Friday. Or somethin’.
The federal government has been very generous with other people’s money lately. Billions to automakers. Billions to states. Billions to banks. Last week I even saw a woman ask Obama for a house.
So I thought I would post a video with my request for a handout. Just substitute “Obama” wherever you hear “Lord”.
